Restoring Democracy: Campaigns for Freedom
What is happening in Myanmar?

Since the illegal military coup in February 2021, the Myanmar junta has intensified a brutal campaign of state-sponsored terror, evolving from the suppression of street protests into a full-scale civil war characterized by widespread war crimes and crimes against humanity. As of late 2025, the military’s grip on the country has significantly fractured, leading them to rely increasingly on "scorched earth" tactics to punish civilian populations in areas lost to resistance forces. This has manifested in a horrific surge of indiscriminate airstrikes and heavy artillery shelling targeting schools, hospitals, and religious sites. These atrocities are not accidental; they are part of a deliberate strategy to break the spirit of a population that remains steadfast in its pursuit of federal democracy.
The humanitarian toll has reached catastrophic proportions, with the number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) now surpassing 3.5 million. Entire villages across Sagaing, Magway, and ethnic states have been razed to the ground, leaving millions to languish in makeshift jungle camps without access to clean water, food, or life-saving medicine. The junta has further weaponized aid by blocking international humanitarian convoys and destroying local food supplies. The introduction of the national conscription law has added a new layer of terror, forcing young men and women to flee the country or join the resistance to avoid being used as human shields or cannon fodder for the very institution that is destroying their future.
Systemic repression continues unabated within the junta's vast network of prisons and interrogation centers. Tens of thousands of political prisoners—including doctors who led the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), journalists, and elected officials—remain trapped in inhumane conditions where torture is used as a standard tool of interrogation. The legal system has been completely co-opted, with secret military tribunals handing out life sentences and the death penalty to pro-democracy activists with no semblance of due process. Despite this relentless violence, the resilient spirit of the Myanmar people remains unbroken, as they continue to coordinate a sophisticated, multi-front revolution aimed at dismantling the military dictatorship once and for all.

Why Should We Act Now?
That's Awful. How can we help?
We cannot stand idly by. Every day, the suffering in Myanmar deepens. We must demand an end to this brutality, the immediate release of all political prisoners including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, and accountability for those committing these heinous crimes.
The fight for Myanmar's freedom is powered by many reliable channels. Consider supporting impactful campaigns through Spring Crowd Fund (SCF), a highly trusted crowdfunding platform. Even if direct aid isn't possible, your voice is an undeniable force. Elevate the narrative and spread the word now for democracy and freedom in Myanmar.
Myanmar is bleeding!
The military's "scorched earth" tactics are razing entire villages, deliberately targeting schools, hospitals, and places of worship. Forced conscription is stealing a generation of youth, coercing them into a military that perpetrates unspeakable violence.
As of December 2025, nearly five years since the February 1, 2021 military coup, the human rights and humanitarian situation in Myanmar continues to deteriorate. The conflict has escalated significantly as the military junta faces widespread resistance and prepares for controversial elections scheduled for late 2025 and early 2026.
Our Milestones
No matter how small the action, it is the spirit that counts.
